CommUNITY Conversation

CommUNITY ConversationMason City Schools Deputy Superintendent Jonathan Cooper is unveiling CommUNITY Conversations with partners from the City of Mason, Deerfield Township, and the Mason-Deerfield MADE Chamber.

Watch Mr. Cooper explain his vision for CommUNITY Conversations.

“I was humbled to have been chosen to be Mason City Schools next Superintendent, and one of my biggest priorities is to connect with more of you.  We are fortunate to be served by inspiring leaders in the City of Mason, Deerfield Township, and the Mason-Deerfield Chamber, and I would like to deepen our already strong partnership. I am energized about strengthening relationships with parents and community members. I would love to see our community grow even closer as we intentionally talk together about things that are going well, and things that could be better,” explains Cooper. What’s a CommUNITY Conversation? CommUNITY Conversations are conversations with Mason City Schools residents where we can find common ground on our core values, and confront and solve difficult issues.  CommUNITY Conversations will be an opportunity for citizens to talk with Cooper, and a member of our City, Township, or Chamber’s leadership team. By bringing people together to share stories and discuss issues that matter, we will expand our sense of neighborhood and bridge divides through the power of connections and relationships.  Our conversations stem from our commitment to create UNITY in our community one conversation at a time. This spring, some of the topics we will discuss include ensuring equity and inclusion, mental wellness, school safety, and other topics that need community input. How Can I Get Involved? If you are interested in hosting a conversation, please call 513-398-0474, ext. 24004 and ask to host an upcoming CommUNITY Conversation.
