MI Student Earns Academic Excellence Recognition from Johns Hopkins

Mason Intermediate fifth grader Ansh Alluru was named one of the brightest young students in the world at a recent awards ceremony sponsored by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY).

Alluru scored exceptionally high on a difficult, above-grade-level test to be recognized by the CTY Talent Search. Alluru was one of more than 30,000 students from 60 countries to participate in the competition.

The CTY Talent Search is open to students in grades 2-8 from around the world. Participating students take a test designed for several grades higher than ones respective current grade. The test results provide insight into a child’s math and verbal abilities.

According to its website, the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth identifies and develops the talents of the most advanced K-12 learners worldwide. As part of Johns Hopkins, CTY contributes to the university’s mission by preparing and nurturing the bright young people who will go on to make significant contributions to our world. CTY’s  broader mission is to be a national voice that supports and encourages academic talent and achievement.
