The Diviners by Jim Leonard Jr. is one of the most critically acclaimed plays of the last 20 years. Set in the fictional town of Zion, Indiana during the Great Depression, the play tells the story of Buddy Layman, a young boy whose mother drowned when he was only four years old.  Buddy is filled with an overpowering fear of the water, and yet has a supernatural gift to sense it.  The play begins with the arrival of a self-doubting preacher, C.C. Showers, who befriends Buddy and his family and sets into motion a series of powerful events which leads Buddy back to the river.  This show is rated PG-13 for some mild adult language and situations and some tragic moments.  It is most suited to audience members of middle school age and up.

The Diviners has a cast of 11 students and features Ian Hedges as Buddy Layman, Ben Ginsberg as C.C. Showers, Abby Burns as Jeanie Mae Layman, Sean McCrae as Ferris Layman, Yash Valsangkar as Basil, Gretchen Knuth as Louella, Delaney Cowles as Norma, Molly Cronin as Darlene, Alecia Ephron-Harp as Goldie, Webb Beatty as Dewey, and Kenji Schmatz as Melvin.  The show is stage managed by James Henricks assistant directed by Miriam Shrivastava and Mitch Goggin, and assistant technical directed by Sarah Bartlett. The play is produced by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
